How to organize your bikes in the garage





I had my bikes sitting on the side of garage taking much of space which I did not like a bit. I was so much inclined to put the bikes away to make room for my table tennis table that I researched several different options available in the market. Let's take a look at some of them in the increasing order of my preference

4. Stack them

This is your option if you prefer to stack the bikes. For me this was going to take much of the wall space which I did not have enough of. So I decided to give it a pass. 

3. Wall hanging rack - multiple bikes

If you have a small space available in your garage on a wall, this could be one option to look at. This versatile easy to install rack is compact and can be installed fairly easily, if you have the right tools.
I was able to put it together in 30 minutes and my bikes were put away on the wall, hanging nicely.
It might be tempting to install the rack higher up but that's exactly what you should not do. Bikes are heavy in general to lift and hang up on the rack. Taking them out can be difficult as well. Make sure to hang them at a comfortable height for you to be able to take them out and put them in without much effort.


 

2. Single bike wall rack

Hanging from the wall but a choice of hanging single bike instead of the multi bike rack in the first picture. Good option if you have only a bike or two to hang. Could be easy to set-up as all you really need is to find a single stud in the wall to mount this on.


1. Safe racks

Safe racks comes with the bike mounting hangers and is ideal for storage on top and hanging bikes using the hangers on the wall. Unfortunately my safe racks installation did not allow me to hang bikes on it because of the height at which I ended up installing safe racks. But if you can install this at the correct height, this could be ideal solution for hanging multiple bikes as it comes with multiple hangers.
